Western Springs
Western Springs, an affluent village just 14 miles west of the City of Chicago, is a quiet neighborhood desired by many younger families making their move out from condo living in the city, as well as it's long-time residents. A variety of homes and meticulously maintained estates line the streets of the village, offering buyers their pick of nearly every style of home, from vintage to exceptional new construction. As it was founded in 1886, many original homes are still found sprinkled throughout the village and carry placards noting the year in which they were built (1886-1889). The bustling downtown is the core of this wonderful community, with small businesses that exude a "small town" vibe such as the village hardware store, Oberweis ice cream parlor, a neighborhood gym and Casey's butcher shop. These traditional businesses are complimented with exceptional [Zagat rated] modern dining options, high-end boutiques and wellness spas. The village also hosts a Farmer's Market every Sunday from May to October.
The downtown district is complimented by excellent schools, parks, civic organizations and the nationally recognized Theater of Western Springs.
