West loop/fulton market
The West Loop sits, you guessed it, directly west of The Loop. Extending west from the river to Ogden, and bordered by I-290 to the south and the railroad tracks to the North, this area is home to Google, McDonald's and the previous home of Oprah's Harpo Studios. Originally an area of factories, meatpacking warehouses and other industrial buildings, timber and concrete lofts are very common throughout this neighborhood, but you can also find many new and newer construction, low-to-mid-rise buildings as well. Randolph Street and Fulton Market offer some of the best of the best of dining in Chicago, with famed restaurants such as The Girl and the Goat and Au Cheval; Michelin Star rated Sepia and Next; Instagram-fave The Doughnut Vault; and of course, Greektown!
